Apollo group has signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with AfroIndia Medical Services for opening 30 telemedicine units in Africa. Out of these 30, 3 medical units were launched at Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja in Nigeria was inaugurated by Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, chairman, Apollo Hospital through videoconferencing on Thursday.
AfroIndia Medical Services is an Africa based integrated medical service provider. It has an authority of providing reachable and reasonable medical care to African patients through their network of more than 1500 hospitals in India, Europe and Israel. ”Apollo’s MOU with AfroIndia Medical services will pave way for availability of tertiary and quaternary health care to a large number of patients resulting in cost, effort and time benefit,” Reddy was quoted in the issued statement. These telemedicine centers will function as an interactive nexus between African doctors and specialists from Apollo hospital.
