In a recent event, Intex technologies has announced its future plans of diversifying its services into healthcare. Making its foray into the medical tourism industry, the consumer electronic goods maker is believed to be coming with its venture ‘Intex Care’ in the coming time shortly.
When asked about the model of Intex Care, Piyush Goel, Director, Intex Care, Intex Technologies said “ They will operate in exactly the same way as an international travel agent like Thomas Cook does. But instead of facilitating accommodation, we will facilitate medical services”.
Speaking on the company’s future investment plans, Mr Piyush stated, “Intex will invest Rs 50 crore in the venture over the same period in two to three stages. We expect an initial first year revenue of Rs 50 crore. Of which Rs 40-45 crore will be from in-bound clients. Later with our expansion into intra-nation or domestic medical tourism, we expect to see a run over of Rs 200-250 crore within a couple of years”.
With an aim to provide healthcare services at affordable costs, Intex technologies has tied up with 22 premium corporate hospital companies in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, New Delhi (NCR) and Chennai. Apart from India, the company is looking to focus on four main geographies of the world which include North Africa, West Asia, South Asia, and the English speaking West.
