5 Best Foods for Healthy Skin and Hair

If you always wished to have flawless skin and shiny hair just like your favorite actress, you can get them just by adding some foods into your meal. A lot of products are available in the market to make your hair and skin look great from outside, however, the best way is to improve these by consuming food items so that the shine and glow comes from inside.

In the same manner like we eat healthy food for the other parts of our body, the texture of our hair and skin also depends on what we eat. Along with our eating habits, there are other factors too such as smoking, stress and lack of sleep etc. that have an effect on how our skin and hair look. If you do not have any trouble with these factors, then the food that you eat can really make a huge transformation.

1. Spinach


A wonderful source of Vitamin C, beta carotene, iron and folate, spinach is a powerhouse of antioxidants. Spinach offers great protection to your hair and skin from the harsh UV rays of the sun. Instead of lettuce, you can add spinach. You can also sauté it with garlic to add health and taste quotient.

Blueberries have antioxidant properties that have a number of good effects such as stop premature aging, minimizing acne, reducing wrinkles, increases blood circulation, and lessens inflammation too. This food substance is also rich in Vitamin C that stops breaking of the hair. You can add blueberries in your daily cereal, oatmeal or a smoothie.

3. Lentils


Lentils, a part of legumes, are known to be treasure house of iron, biotin, zinc and protein, which are the main elements for healthy skin and hair. Actually, they are an important part of the meals of vegetarians. Adding them in a soup or sautéing those with spices can be a healthier version. Lentil can be a side dish or a part of the main course, as you like.

4. Low fat Greek yogurt


We all know that yogurt is healthy but low fat Greek yogurt is even healthier. It is rich in Vitamin B5, protein, and Vitamin D. You can eat this along with granola and fruits at the time of breakfast, making it a healthy meal.

5. Walnuts


Who doesn’t likes walnuts!! These nuts are a treasure house of Biotin, omega 3 fatty acids, and Vitamin 3. These three are important nutrients for our skin and hair. Eating walnuts can stop hair breakage and offers protection to your our cells from getting damaged. Consume a handful of walnuts on a daily basis.
